GUIDE TO PLANNING YOUR WHISTLER ELOPEMENT
How Do You Get To Whistler?
One of the reasons I love Whistler so much is because of how easily accessible it is! It’s under 2 hours away from downtown Vancouver — and the drive there follows the Sea-to-Sky highway which is absolutely stunning! Plus on the way, you’ll pass through my other favourite mountain town, Squamish!
In Vancouver, you can also rent a private charter or take a scenic helicopter ride to Whistler. How cool is that?!
When Is the Best Time of Year to Elope in Whistler?
Although the weather here in Canada can often be unpredictable, eloping in Whistler will be beautiful regardless of the season. Here’s what you need to know about the seasons in Whistler:
Summer
The summer weather in Whistler is pretty amazing. It’s not too cold or too hot, yet you can get the best of both worlds by visiting the lakes in the morning and being able to ski in the mountains at night. All elopement locations are accessible during this time and there is so much to see and do! Though one thing to keep in mind is it does get quite a few tourists in summer.
Fall
The fall months are one of the best times to elope in Whistler. Not only is this Whistler’s off-season, meaning cheaper prices and less crowds, but this area completely bursts with colour once the leaves start to change. But like I mentioned before, the weather in the area can be pretty unpredictable, so plan for an elopement in the early fall months if you don’t want to risk the chance of snow.
Winter
Unlike most locations, winter is actually Whistler’s peak season! This is due to the fresh powder that coats the mountains. It’s known for being some of the best snow in the world! If you love cold temperatures and winter sports, winter is a great season to visit, although it requires extra planning and limits your locations due to road closures.
Spring
Like the fall, spring is another off-season in Whistler. The weather during this time is pleasant, though there is still snow on the higher peaks. This can make your elopement photos pop, but can cause some extra planning and backup plans.
